From Haugesund. With 3 children and a husband who's seemingly constantly away on business, I garden like it could save my life - and it probably does!

The show is perhaps a bit late this year, but always worth the wait.

@juliesgarden thank you for asking, most days I even forget I had surgery at all - everything works as it is supposed to, and I am just amazed that it is possible to fix something like that!

Thanks @ShelleySnyder and @lydiastirling. On a day like today, it simply takes my breath away. Too bad I have to go to work tomorrow, because I don’t think I am done staring at it.

Mulch! My «firewood guy» came through again! This year, instead of him dropping off a few bags after the wood was delivered and stacked, we decided to drive a hanger to his place. He got rid of some of his waste material, and all my rhodo’s got a generous layer of mulch!

They seem late this year. Just the two on the edge so far, and I keep waiting for the explosion of clashing colors once they all get going.

My kids immedeately asked if they could build a secret hideaway under there.... Nope, just for birds and hedgehogs! (I know the neighborhood cats will go there too and although that's ok, they aren't invited.) There is lilly of the valley already growing under my rhodo trees (I get to call them trees now, don't I?), and I plan to add wood anemones too. @jacaranda @lovestogarden

Thanks everyone @ulrikagustafsson @richard.spicer.7906 @BillWatson @ShelleySnyder @muhammadabbas I keep my garden mostly green, trying to maintain a calm and quiet look (inspite of the absolute crowdiness in my borders), so such a burst of color may seem out of character. But I'm ok with that!

It is both a shame and a blessing that the 12 rhodos along this walk don't flower at the same time.

This is the "younger" rhodo border, on the other side of the garden. It still has quite a bit of growing to do, but it has really come along nicely.

See what I mean? This is the view from the top deck. You can definitely see flowers peeking over the fence. Next year, just imagine next year's view!!!
