@carlycarpenter .......I grew mine very successfully in pots for several years. Even in the garden most of them are ok but I do use slug pellets and an early morning slug patrol!!
@carlycarpenter @flof1952 Have you tried copper rings? The combination of copper rings & strulch has made a huge difference to my #slug & #snail infested, damp #Cumbrian garden. I even had a Bishop of Llandaff reappear after the winter, which is unheard of (I'd forgotten to dig it up).
Thanks, yep I've tried pots, copper, slug pellets and eggshells baked in garlic, I also remove slugs and snails by hand and put them to work in the compost but all to no avail lol
Have always grown these in pots but trying them in the garden this year.

Beautiful, I wish I could grow dahlias but I can't keep the slugs off them, I've tried everything and they still demolish them over night 😣
