Monarda 'Gardenview Scarlet'

Monarda adds a touch of the exotic to our gardens .. Sadly we have no hummingbirds to feed from them but we do have bees.. They come from North America #red #America #cottagegarden #summer

I did plants the seed but they didn't do well

@Tina they can be a little on the fussy side .. Beautiful but unless the conditions are just right for them they don't thrive .. When they do do well they are spectacular :o)

@hardys I did get the seed free so thought might as well try along with Himalayan poppy but didn't do well with both 🙄 well at least I tried 😂

Himalayan poppy need an acid soil so impossible for us in our area of chalky Hampshire and our alkaline water supply :o(

Can you tell me if this plant grows better in a pot or planted straight to ground🤔

@susanM it will grow in a pot but long term it would be much happier in the ground :o)
