Cannot believe this is still going. I have never been able to do this before. I guess I have learned alot and have come alone way. No longer a novice. Yay even has a ton of new growth from where I had to cut it from the cats breaking it. Had it since before x mas. #goodjob #poinsettia #red

I am so surprised that this has not shriveled up then crisped up and died by now. The only leaves lost are the stems the dam kittens broke off. I hope hope hope I can keep it going till summer. If I do I will feel like such an accomplished bad ass. Btw never new surprised was spelled like that lol till it auto corrected me #redpoinsettia #poinsettia #cosmo #themobros #red #keepinghopealive #fingerscrossed

That is fantastic. Why are these plants so temperamental ? Some of mine do well and others just wilt and die. I still have 2 left. My biggest wilted. Hope yours lasts for years 👍❤️

Put the stems in water they will root without the leaves on the stems.

Just looked them up. The description of a tree one calls it scraggly. I dont think that at all. @txgardener

Sorry @kelsey92 I have done research and see that technique nowhere. I even read they cant root in water at all and especially not without leaves. Did u ever do it? Did it work?

@heatherdirtyhands it worked for me one year. In a skinny vase of water.

@heatherdirtyhands Can you root poinsettia cuttings in water? Rooting Poinsettia Cuttings Dip the cuttings straight into water to stop 'bleeding. ' Then, plant in equal parts peat and sharp sand.

@heatherdirtyhands they actually put out roots that way after they healed up. Yes they did grow. They did not survive that many years.
