First potatoes of the year which I shared with my uncle Joe, which was fitting as he brought them over and planted them. He has been an inspiration from the start of the project and continues to be so. Potatoes are going up in price and these are lovely organic veggies
You've been so productive 🙂

Am ridging the potatoes at Ilson Roots and came across this sick looking plant - any ideas ?

I have mostly ridged the potatoes. There are a lot of potatoes and all in new ground. I found out yesterday that you should only try breaking clay clods down when they are slightly damp. Doing it in the hot afternoon sun when they are baked solid is dumb. But that's what I did anyway lol I did start to think what did I do wrong to deserve rock breaking !?! I didn't read the organic gardening book in time. That's what it was ha ha ha ha That is typical me. Hate reading the instructions.

Nicely ridged up. The first row was set at Easter. Only another 9 rows to ridge up!!

And the potatoes from 2015 were simply the best chippers I have ever tasted!

First row of potatoes sown early April are showing their faces
Potatoes always do well on this land. I was thinking of planting less potatoes but then prices started rising and British people are addicted to potatoes!
