I've bought main crop potatoes to plant in the ground instead of earlies by mistake. What difference would it make if I planted them now and why earlies, second earlies and mains anyway? What's the difference?

Maincrop take longer to grow need more space between planting maincrop are your Christmas tatties and generally store well earlies and second earlier will be ready earlier and don't store as well that's the basic differences also earlies tend not to suffer blight as are lifted earlier hope that helps a bit 👍🏻
