Acer palmatum

Still not absolutely sure of the variety of this acer which I bought from Morrisons but it’s one of my favourites 🍁 #acer #japanese-maple #japanesemaple #foliagefriday

@italydiva ‘Butterfly’ was my first thought but I’m not sure about the colours 🤔

I know what you mean Kerry, it does have similar features but as you say, the colours are a little confusing. I came across one called Strawberry Spring. It has the green central vein through each of the bisected leaves but I can’t see Morrisons selling anything like that? @kez001uk @ShelleySnyder

@italydiva you wouldn’t think they’d sell one that’s more rare, but you never know 😛 might have been lucky 😉

I have to agree with @kez001uk you never know what you can get at a supermarket, I've gotten some pretty sweet deals! So don't assume it's not a real good one, ya never know!💘😍

No but also can't see mozzers selling any special varieties except the more common ones like butterfly, whatever it is its got lovely veins in leaf 💕💚💕

Thanks so much for all your input and suggestions. I agree as it was a Morrison’s purchase it’s likely a more common variety but it’s doing a very good impersonation of something different! 😂 We’ve got a few contenders but I’m completely confused 🤷‍♀️ I think I’ll keep an eye on it and post pics as it develops throughout the year.
