This is the 3rd Daphne I've bought and the other 2 have died on me. Any advice welcome, situation, potting....HELP please. I love them so much but can't afford to keep buying them.
Fertile slightly acid well drained sunnyish position don't disturb the roots when in the ground @itstillhelen
Fingers crossed Helen 🤞🏼
Thankyou @carolgs, fingers crossed it's third time lucky.
I have one that has lived in a pot for years. It has been fine but hasn't flowered the last couple of years & am similarly at a loss as to how to cheer it up, so if you get any more good tips, please let me know 😊
They apparently don't like pots but something eats mine in the ground. Why am I even bothering??
Because we do! That's what gardening is all about: bothering 😂😂
Mm, it's a very expensive 'hobby' with some of these difficult shrubs tho' 😫@awomanonabike
Haha! You're right! I control my spending by cycling to my nearest garden centre, so I'm not tempted!!
Try the RHS Website for advice with your Daphne too 😊
Fingers crossed @katgreen, this one has so far survived!
@itstillhelen might be worth checking for vine weevils as well 😲
Loving the fragrance of this Daphne every time I walk down the garden. Even covered with fleece to protect from frost allows the scent through.
That's beautiful. I love plants with strong scent 😍
Me too @angiecrazycatlady, I’ve got virtually nothing worth talking about in my garden at the moment! 😰
Love the scent of a Daphne Odora, went to a garden in Kent they had a massive one by their front door. Standing and talking you could smell it.
I agree Mitch, we’ve noticed as we walk past people’s gardens that we can smell a Daphne before we see it. Gorgeous 🙂
That's beautiful 😍
It really is @jyotu but the smell is even better!
😘❤
