Made the mistake of buying a house with a river at the bottom of the garden. Constantly floods and also contains arsenic from an old mill nearby.

The vile smelling skunk cabbage has grown back. So pretty but such a vile stench!

I love the look of them, they spread rapidly and it took me ages last year to work out what the awful smell was!

Anyone else watching Gardeners World and going to spend the weekend digging up all the dreaded Skunk Cabbage from their streams? 😫

Not seen Gardeners World yet. Looks so nice. I assume it's invasive 🤔

@susanhumphrey333 @karenkk It's not only invasive but wrecks waterways and kills bees etc by attracting and killing them apparently. Has to be burned to dispose of it. 😫

@7walnutclose Tough as old boots, especially as it's in the banks of the stream which collapse as you dig it out! Aarrgghhh

So pretty but so smelly! Gets really big as well but I don't want to dig it up.

I love these alien pods! Invasive in waterways, restricted roots in a pond pot, discourages escaping aliens!

Does it have big roots @thehardygardener? Should I dig up and pot then?
