This is the first flower I've had all year from this particular #dahlia - at the end of September!??
My ones are still going too and only came out two weeks ago!
Oh I like that idea @linfoster 👍👍
Most dahlias are late flowering in the season and will flower right up to the first frosts 👍🏼
I like that idea @linfoster 👍🏼😀
Most of the #dahlias I've grown are started from #tubers. Unless you thinking of the dwarf bedding dahlias, Julie @linfoster I too like the idea of seed swap 👍🏻👍
Yeah mine are all from tubers @lamaisonbleueoleron @linfoster I've kept them in pots, even over winter. This is their 3rd year!
Hi James, @jamesbirnie this is just my second year of growing Dahlias. I'm lucky enough I can keep them in the ground during winter with extra mulch to protect in case any risk of frost. They had doubled in size since leaving them in ground.
That's lovely
This poor old #dahlia keeps getting eaten alive by the slugs. Hopefully she'll spring back to life again under this home made cloche.
Excellent idea,love it.
Fingers crossed
I use an abundance of snail and slug pellets mixed with coral sand used in marine fish tanks or ground up glass works a treat
Great idea. ..I'm going to see what I have in my recycling to do this!
Does that really work Ged? Stops snails and slugs?
