Some more aloes inherited from a moving friend. Their pot and soil seemed to be in better condition, so I left them alone to keep doing their thing. #aloe #aloevera #succulent #happyplants
@CristinaandThomas hmm I'm not really sure what to tell you. But I do know that when you repot it that they like wide pots, their roots tend to grow wide and not necessarily deep. I've also been told not to use regular potting soil, as this hold too much water. Instead, add perlite and/or sand and small rocks and pebbles. I add these to my regular potting soil to accommodate the excess moisture.
@kcsealey @cristinaandthomas I always use topsoil and I've not had any problem. But u do have to watch how u water on either one. All my plants start in topsoil then I feed them, miracle grow/mixed in water, let it run through pot and then place them in a happy place😀 then just do the Mommy Ck
@acetaker Ooooh that's good to know, is it particularly rainy or humid where you are? I'm a little scared that with all the moisture in the air, regular topsoil wouldn't dry quickly. My family owns a sand and gravel business, sometimes I nip over there and take some sand or pebbles to include with my succulents' soil, I've heard they like that sort of mixture.
That's good for the topsoil to be added..The Grainy Feel...lol! I'm in Alabama and we have alot of humidity. Which is good..they love it. I will go out and spray water mists on them here and there...they love that too. My succulents thrive with the good morning sun and afternoon shade...I have river rocks around most of mine thd other plants I like red mulch. Fancy for a Balcony...Ayyy..lol!
