Hi will Lupins grow in a heavy clay soil? I love them but I only plant green shrubs flowers just don't seem to grow Thank for your help

Hi @Annie22 they should do, dig a hole twice size of the roots of buying from a nursery or if from seed, get well established first then again plant in a good size hole with lots of fresh compost. My soil is heavy clay too and rehydrate thriving!!! 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

I love all olde English cottage garden flowers but seem to have lost my lupine so recently bought another - do they spread?🤔

@thomasrat3 I'm not sure to be honest, I've got a few in my front garden but it's all slated so not much chance of spreading....sorry, I can't help you on that one. Beautiful plants though x

Must start mine off they look good 👏👍🏻

You can collect the seed easily and plant on next year to get 100s more. Though believe it is best for the plant to deadhead before they fully seed because the sheer volume of seed production takes too much out of it over a couple of years.
