Gorgeous foliage! Keep an eye out for geeenflies and blackflies. They love to have a good banquet on acers. So far mine has been ok.

@ShelleySnyder sadly not, they’re never named properly. It infuriates me 😂

@ublaszko I’ve just made sure to spray them with bug spray (a non-chemical one of course) because I have a lot of trouble with spiders on mine 😱 they damage so many of the leaves 😰

I haven't heard of spider on acer leaves. What do the leaves look like when damaged by spiders? Will keep in mind to watch our for. I spray mine with insecticide when leaves first start to appear and that seems to do the trick for the rest of the year.

@ublaszko they seem to cocoon things in between new growth and it damages the leaves as they grow out. They do it in my dwarf rhododendron and gardenia too. So frustrating 😜 but hopefully have stopped it before it starts this year 🤞🏻
