I can't believe they're still going! It's been quite a mild winter so far. My hardy fuchsia is still going.

@ublaszko this is pretty much the last of them 😐 you still have a fuchsia flowering??? Most of mine have foliage but the flowers are long gone ☹️

I just deadheaded the last flowers and cut it back so I can see my hellebores better. It has kept going much longer than usual but we haven't really had hard frost yet. @kez001uk

Your chrysanthemums are spectacular! Inspired me to get more next year. I didn't see many for sale this year so I'm guessing they were badly hit by the heatwave. So pretty!

@ublaszko oh I’m so happy to hear that! It’s the first year I’ve grown them and love them so much! Not bad either, 15 plants for £10 (they were little plugs though)

They look much better than mine! 😍 I wish I had a few more now to have some late autumn colour. I must say that's one if thr seasons I haven't planned for in my garden yet. Chrysanthemums are definitely on my wishlist for next year.

@ublaszko they really do provide blasting colour. A good few weeks I’ve had out of these, maybe a couple of months for the small ones. At least you have plenty of time to plan for next autumn 😉

😉👍 I think the heatwave had shortened the flowering season of some plants in my garden so hopefully it will be back to normal next year. I really want to get a purple smokebush for autumn colour and maybe another acer 😆 I have a secret plan to get an acer each year 😅😅😅

@natii only chrysanthemums really but thankfully have a few pots of them 😋 had to cut back all my fuchsias yesterday so lost a fair few flowers now 😫

@natii it’s getting so cold here that I didn’t want to wait and risk being outside for hours in the rain and icy winds. It’s for the best I guess but just looks so bare 😂 still have a couple of surprises in flower but most is gone til spring now. Thank you, they’re still mostly looking good but they deteriorate fast 😜

I cut the last of mine back the other day, they were starting to fail and like you said, they go quickly. 😞😞

@gjones they have done well and fortunately staggered themselves so some open as others die back. Still a fair few buds on these too 😋

@pelly they really do! Had to cut back a pot that pretty much went overnight 😟 do you leave yours outside over winter? Not grown them before so not sure what’s best

I cut them back and the ones in the soil stay there, the ones in pots get cut back too and go in the greenhouse Kerry 👍👍

Have to get me some of these! I walked by them a couple of weeks ago, and just knew I'd regret it 😀

Pretty grim. Frost has well & truly struck. Anything half hardy has bitten the dust 😑 It was always going to happen, as although we've had some mild winters, I've never known a frost-free one. On the bright side, everything in the greenhouse & indoors survived well, without water for 3 weeks 😊

@jeatacake nope, that first frost puts paid to most of the weak ones 😟 glad the indoor and greenhouse plants made it 😁
