My daughter went to the greenhouse today. The rhododendrons were still so expensive. Will wait for a sale. She did pick me up a clematis though. The President one. Will be planting tomorrow. Have not seen it yet. 💜💜

@hkyfvr they can be so expensive 😞 guess it’s because they’re fairly big plants by time we can buy them 😐 that’s a great choice of clematis 😍 hope it flourishes for you 💜

They often go on sale after bloom time so I will keep looking. Thanks and I hope it does well. Have to remember to keep its feet cool. 👍😍

@hkyfvr best time to buy them 🤑 clematis are a bit of a pain needing top in the sun but bottom in shade 🙈 but worth the fuss 😛

I am planting it under the shaded edge of the porch and it will grow up the railing into the sun. I will put plants around to cool it and mulch it. Hopefully that will do the trick. Never had one before. Wish me luck. 🤞🤞🤞

Our big box stores have such beautiful plants and they are in such bad shape. Most are dried out and wilting. I offered to water them. I keep a bottle of water in the car and if I buy a plant I water it before we leave the parking lot. 🤦‍♀️🤷‍♀️

Also, what you see now is the underside of the petals which will be far less prominent when fully open 👍

The one I have which was my mother's is similar. Dark purple before they open & pinkish after👍

Thanks Kerry. It looks far more striking in bud than when they've actually opened! Its probably 2 or 3 weeks off yet. It's a late one & the flower buds are still small & colourless just now.
