Camellia just arrived - is it ok to leave it on the balcony or it’s better to stay indoor for winter? Thanks!!

@ladybear welcome to G Tags you’ll enjoy it here I have learned a lot ,I just leave my Camellia out over winter and it has been ok
@nojo920 thanks so much!! Very excited to join and look forward to learning!
Lovely! I would agree with @nojo920, it should be just fine. They are very hardy plants
@richard.spicer.7906 thanks v much!
Same, leave it outside. Just keep it somewhere away from an east facing wall so the flowers don't turn brown. ☺️ It's best to keep it in shade in the morning.
Hi Michelle, welcome to GTags. That’s a beautiful camellia 💗
Hi I have a question so grateful for help and advice. This camellia has flower bulbs for almost a month now but none turned into flower... what is the reason and anything should be done? Many thanks!
The cold weather may have temporarily stalled them, but I would have expected them to do something these last few days as it’s been much warmer. Some of the buds look to be showing a bit of brown in the photo, although I can’t quite zoom in on them enough, is that right? Is the soil got enough moisture in it? The only other possibility is that the buds may have been affected by the frost - if they get morning sun after a frost they defrost to quickly, or if it gets wet and drys too quickly
This causes flower balling - this might help potentially - https://www.rhs.org.uk/advice/profile?pid=627
@richard.spicer.7906 thanks so much, this is so useful to read. Yes the buds start turning a bit brown, but it’s generally wet and not dry. My balcony fasts east so it does have the front then quickly dry problem as you said! I hope the warm but wet weather recently can still rescue them. It would be very lovely to see the flowers!!
