9/18/2019 And so begins the 14 hours of darkness for the next 8 weeks for this #poinsettia. I know it may be a bit premature but I can't wait any longer. I want to turn it red! I haven't tried it before. Wish me luck!
Where did you buy this beauty from? Or, have you had her awhile?
@batreez I've had it for a while. My work gave them to us at our Christmas luncheon in Dec. 2018 so I've had it since then. I think they said they purchased them from a local nursery or something, though?
Lovely poinsettia @leeloodallas wondering🤔have you ever cut it back? I have one 3 years old, never cut it back though and it's very leggy, would love for it to be bushier like yours. I'm doing the 14hrs of darkness thing now, since October and she's starting to turn. Very exciting to see every year 😍 thank you.
@crabby58 I did cut it back and it came back pretty happy! Sadly, I didn't bring it inside soon enough when we warmed up and it ended up getting crispy. I'm hoping to get another one this year. 😳
I will cut it back after the season, give it a try, never cut it back since I've had mine. I'm doing the closet thing now and can see it's starting to turn, but straggly very small leaves, not bushy and big like yours😘 How much did you cut yours back? @leeloodallas

3/7/2019 Here's one of my work #poinsettias after I repotted it. It's the one that's been doing the best from the beginning but it's doing even better in its new pot with new soil!

12/11/2018 One of the owners of my company gave everyone these little poinsettias. I hope I can manage to care for it properly since I've never tried. But they're so cute! #babypoinsettia
10/9/2019 the #poinsettia has been having the dark treatment for about three weeks now. Some of the leaves are lightening up. I'm so curious to see if it'll actually turn red and how long that takes.
Is that how they turn red? That's so cool
@hhartg Supposedly! It hasn't worked for me yet so I've moved it somewhere where I can confirm it gets 14 hours of complete darkness and 10 hours of light, more or less.
