Billbergia nutans

Always a treat when this plant blooms. I have been working inside my house and garage to clean up old paperwork, get rid of non necessaries, and playing with my sweet kitty. We have had lots of rain and my garden is a happy mess. The sun is out and I have pulled some weeds. Do ur angel tears bloom more than once a year-per plant?? I didn’t get one bloom this past summer. I’ve had them for about 7 yrs. the bloom probably not called a bloom but they are so colorful and unique but am I lacking feeding them. Do u know I read up about them and they said one bloom per year. Well I have had none per year. Any tips or suggestions. They can’t stand this sun directly but they get filtered afternoon sun. Help I want mine to bloom like urs 🤣😂😘👍🏻👍🏻😊💕

@terrimclaughlin - Oh, Terri, I can only tell you what I know. My Mother likes her plants small and will break them up into thirds each year. I always take her extras and keep unless spoken for. This pot is full of quite young plants and old removed. I think this helps them. Each specific plant only blooms once and then puts out a pup. I keep mine with only morning to mid-day sun. It probably dries or almost between waterings. I hope this helps. 💞

Thxs and yes it helped I thinned mine in the fall and separated them into two groups I took a lot of pups. So hopefully it’ll help. Thxs again 😊

I love those!!! Not exactly sure what their called but they have sooo much color. I reported some of mine this past summer and, no blooms hopefully I’ll get at least one this year. Great pic. Their color is so much brighter in person!!!!!👍🏻👍🏻🤗🤗🤗😊💕
