My banana tree is also doing really well considering how dark the winters are near the arctic circle. #banana

Planted in a self watering pot in cactus/citrus soil mix. Kept constantly moist.
I cut off half the leaves to use for BBQ ribs. The ribs are smoked for 2 hours then wrapped in banana leaves and cooked another hour. The leaves give it a nice flavor and work like wrapping in foil or parchment.
That’s an interesting idea 😋
@jacaranda My family is from Puerto Rico and cooking with banana leaves is common there. They give food a really nice flavor and hold in moisture. The wax on the leaves also makes them naturally nonstick!
