Help me identify this plant! Finally repotted these aloes. They really needed it. They have been in pots with no drainage for years probably. Not sure of the IDs. Not aloe Vera for sure and I think the ones in the back might be a different variety than the ones up front. Maybe not though, they were in different pots and about 10 ft away from each other so it could just be a light thing. #aloeid #aloe #plantid
@DonNotDonny it doesn’t grow like my aloe Vera and looks strikingly diff in person. Let me take a pic of my aloe Vera that I just repotted too next to them. The leaves on these are more translucent.
@shaz831 I had previously asked for an ID on these elsewhere and even specifically asked if they were aloe Vera and someone told me no, that if I used them like aloe Vera I could die or something so I always assumed that they weren’t. 🤷♀️
@ohhyouknow In this case Lauren, I think you need a professional or plant expert advice. Make sure you don't use it before it's 100% assured. Can you help @drumadixit ...?
@Cyndi @shaz831 I’m pretty convinced that the person who told me that these were not aloe Vera either didn’t know what they were talking about, or they were just trying to stress the importance of not using random plants medicinally if you aren’t 100% on the ID lol.
@Cyndi when that person told me that, I was so bummed. I have been needing to repot these for a long time, and part of the reason I had avoided it so long is because I was very meh about these guys after having that person shoot down my hopes and dreams about these guys. 😥
These are itching Aloe Vera's. I hate them. Frequently i rub them in my skin and that's itching all over my body. I stop rubbing these aloe's. Thick leaf aloes are best while rubbing them i can't fell any itching. Those type of aloes with watery jellys they're best.

Why do you think it's not aloe vera?
