In the last week or so it finally turned this nice red color after weeks of looking dull from the intense heat! The new growths on the left are coming through as two heads so I'm excited to observe them slowly become bigger. The neem oil treatment is finally becoming less obvious (I think the lower left leaf had a thin layer of it which left a little bit of scar tissue), but now the entire plant is kind of dirty looking from the recent fires raining ash down on them. 😅 (08/09/2018)

Ever since I moved some of my plants to the tabletop (where they're getting direct light), I've gotten some really good colorful results. So far, so good! (05/16/2018)

I'm sad to say that the original three did not make it... I'm not sure if it was from my own actions or if the plants were already on their way out, but I hope to not have it happen again. I found these again the other day so I'll try even harder to keep these thriving! Or rather, I'll ignore these even more so that they thrive 😂 (04/24/2018)

Out of all my plants, this one definitely went south. 😰 There are signs of very tiny growths on the stems where the leaves fell off, so I'm warily optimistic of this bouncing back, but I'll miss it's rich red-orange colors in the meanwhile. 😭 (03/23/2018)

The bad: I'm sad to say that shortly after I took a picture of my CA sunset last month, I watered it... unaware that it was going to rain off and on for the next few weeks. My other plants seem to be handling it just fine (they haven't been watered since the end of February) but the CA sunset started dropping leaves and losing its rich red color pretty fast. It's struggling now but lesson learned: water even less during the winter AND winter was delayed by a few months in SoCal. 😓 (03/16/2018)
