I removed these 2 arms from my crested Eve’s Needle because the 2 arms were growing straight and not crested so I removed them to keep the mother plant with just crests. These 2 cuttings are about 10” long. How long do I let it callous and do I plant as is or should the be cut into smaller pieces and those calloused and planted? #eves-needles #eves-needle #eves-pin #evesneedle #evesneedlescactus #evesneedlepropagation
@hannahchristine I would think maybe longer than 3 or 4 days for it to callouse since it seems to be pretty ‘juicy’. I am not going to cut them, I was just wondering if it was an option. Do you have any idea how long before it has enough roots to water?
You can cut them if u want sometimes if its juicy might take a week to callus but once its callused pot it up and water or mist 2 times a week for 2 weeks when soil is dry till rooted u will know its rooted when u tug on plant and its stuck in the soil @pooh4jvn
I have always heard with succulents that they should not even be watered until they have roots, in other wards, not until there is a little resistance when lightly tugged on.
@pooh4jvn yeah but this is a cactus they are stronger then other succulents i hv one i just stuck it in the dirt and misted it and it rooted but its up to u how u plant urs whatever u do im sure will be fine and will grow well good luck
