A regular becoming a box version ... interestingly our local council has declared it a Non-identifiable weed. I believe this has come about because of the habit of irresponsible gardeners hedging their plant and throwing the cuttings in to forest reserves and local bushland where it has become quickly established. The responsible thing of course is to let the green recycled people turn it in to compost to sell back to us... but ...c'est la vie.
@quinnedy yes regular Murraya paniculata is very weedy in bushland near me, often spread by birds, and unfortunately, irresponsible land holders who think throwing weeds into the bush behind their house is a good idea 😔🤦. Apparently there are sterile varieties, but they're not the ones commonly sold at markets, Bunnings etc.
@Jod_Jod_1207 .. I suppose a weed is just a plant in the wrong place but I have known some who have driven past the tip to get to the reserve. Now that is irresponsible!
Yes agreed @quinnedy . Today I witnessed a mowing company dumping their lawn clippings on the side of the road- so lazy and irresponsible. Working in council reserves, I have witnessed people actively dumping garden waste in front of us and they thought there was nothing wrong with it 🤦.
@Jod_Jod_1207 .. Unfortunately the council rangers are understaffed and the penalties are not high enough. Public education seems pointless as the offenders just don't care and know they will more than likely not get caught anyway.
Please help me identify this plant. PlantID #plant-id #plant-identification
Mini mock orange.
It may grow into the regular version but from here it looks like the box version I call it.
