Corylus avellana 'Contorta'. Photographed, 2 June 2017, at Reedie Cottage Gardens, East Scotland. I bought this about 10yrs ago as an anniversary gift for my wife. It was approx 2ft tall. It is now 8-9ft tall and 5ft wide!!! We've even had hazelnuts from it. Twisted bare branches look superb in the Winter, with snow on them. I love the male catkins that hang down in Spring. #corylus #contortedhazel #reediecottagegarden
