Physocarpus opulifolius 'Diabolo'. Photographed today, 16 June 2017, at Reedie Cottage Gardens, East Scotland. First open flower cluster of the year on the Physocarpus Diablo' in my garden. I love the combo of the dark foliage against the creamy white flower cluster.I prefer P. 'Diablo' & P. 'Lady in Red' to P. Physocarpus opulifolius 'Diabolo'. Photographed, 2 June 2017, at Reedie Cottage Gardens, East Scotland. Physocarpus Diabolo' is a deciduous shrub with deep purple, three-lobed leaves and clusters of small white, pink-tinged flowers in summer. This shrub is also known as Ninebark 'Diabolo'. I prefer that darker foliage Physocarpus as the flowers stand out more, than on the golden form.
