Replanted this bad boy again, and he will have some new mates this year. Thought I'd try him in a pot rather than the ground as I think it will be easier to move him and store over winter later this year #bulbs

I love these! Do you know to make your growing medium 30% grit/vermiculite if you're growing in a pot @richard.spicer.7906 They do not take well to being stuck in waterlogged soil, infact it can ruin your lovely bulb completely?

Give it time @debs69 - this bulb is in its third year now, so reckon it won't be long. Already had a second bulb form so not sure what to do with that one yet.

Dug my Eucomis (Pineapple Lily) bulb up at the weekend for winter storage. It's got very big 😁. Whilst it's put on a great display this year, I'm thinking of putting it in a pot next year rather than the ground.

This is one I must try. Seen them on here and really must have a goo

They are one of my top 10 favs now Joan - I have my eye on a couple of other specific varieties. Buying as a bulb is cheaper than buying pot grown. I'm going to try mail order too. @joanboston

Thanks everyone, even now the flowers are already looking more open than a couple of hours ago. Will post another picture later. This is the second year i've had this plant, and i love it. I think i'm gonna look for some other varieties 😁

Now that the crown has opened, the flowers are now getting ready to open underneath it.

The spotty trunk in all its glory.

As per the name suggests, the flower heads of these lillies look a lot like the shape of pineapples. Here's a new one coming through! 🍍

The black/brown spots on the underside of the leaves are quite normal for this plant. Nothing to panic about!
