The hairy leaves of Meconopsis coming through 😁 #newgrowth

Can't wait to see this one in flower 💙🤗

Me too Mo, although I keep reading up and some advice suggests cutting the first years flowers to help establish the plant. It would be hard to resist as I want to see it do well but want to see it flower too! Maybe I'll just leave a couple of buds 😉 @mojo

Hide the book Rich 😂 I'm sure leaving a couple of buds won't do any harm we have to see the colour, can't wait another year. 😳😊

I thought I'd try growing some nice big blue poppies along the woodland path. Dappled shade. I heard these are not the easiest to grow but I'm up for a challenge - seems to be settling in nicely so far 😀 💙

Planted 25th October

Blue poppies? Wow never seen them before. Hope to see them flower next year on here 👌

Hope they succeed @richard.spicer.7906 they will look great 😍

They look great when in flower, although I've also heard I may have to cut the flowers off in the first year to get it established. Still reading up about them to give them the best chance 👀📖

@justin

💙 @fuschia

I hope you have better luck than me I tried these years ago Richard ,they flowered once and then never came up again 🤔🙁🙁

Yeah, I had that problem too. Although I didn't realise at the time that they don't like full sun. I put it down to that. Where did you put yours? @juliesgarden

Was in quite a shady place but quite dry , maybe it was that @richard.spicer.7906

If anyone is interested, this website offers some good advice for growing these poppies - http://www.meconopsis.org/pages/cultivate1.html

Fantastic Lee 👍🏼 - did you get many germinating? @lee85
Slowly, but surely.... #newgrowth

Wow! It gets too hot here to cultivate these beauties. What a treat. :)
