Look at this monster I got for free!!! Anyone have any suggestions on what it is? #plantid #cactus #succulent #indoorplant #helpid #idneeded #identification-needed #middle-tn #tennessee
I'm in Wisconsin mine survives winter every year and it has yellow blooms that last only one day
Huh! It’s definitely an opuntia of some sort, and it most reminds me of some sublata hybrid, but the paddles are so flat and distinct I actually don’t think that’s likely. Good luck, though. What a score!
Totally forgot to tell you until I got your notification just now! Same day I wrote, I ran into one at a local nursery — it’s an Opuntia humifusa, or ‘Eastern Prickly Pear.’
they grow like crazy. If it's getting too leggy you can separate the pads (use tongs and gloves) and just stick the pads into the soil partway and they'll bush out like crazy next year. I left mine outside all winter last year and they did fiiiiiiiiine.
#cinnamoncactus maybe @rosechilders101
Still hanging in there! Even after loping off probably 5lbs off when I first received it, it is doing just fine! Even has some new growth at the bottom! #mean #meanasscactus #prickly #ouch #notouchy #pricklypear #pricklypearcactus #cactus #bigboy #indoor #indoorplant #plantlight #growlight #tennessee #middle-tn
You could probly put/plant this outside if you wanted
@lesliecole49 I would but I live in a 2nd floor apartment and the covered patio gets almost no sun 😔 hopefully next year we will be moved!! 🤞
Lol, been there...
