Okay so here's the deal I forgot about the strict poinsettia schedule for the last....idk 7 months or something? Not totally sure where I left off, but this is what I have. What can I do (if anything) to have the best chance of red leaves by the end of December? I really dropped the ball, here. It's been sitting in a spot on my back porch that is mostly shady and I had the thought, "Oh crap! I better water that!" approximately once a month. It should be dead, and half of it is. I'll upload a pic
Shes a beauty❤ mine is going on 3 years old😃 I would start her on the closet program 16hrs and 8hrs sunlight😘see what happens @savannahssucculentgarden 👍truly can't hurt
@crabby58 @dirtgirlworld Beautiful and healthy? You saw the other side, right?😂 Really though, you guys are the best. I so so appreciate the advice. My brother gifted this to my mom last year and asked me to look after it. So I can't just buy a new one.
I mean I could. They would never know the difference. But still... 😂 I wanna do it right.
Honestly I'd be fine with the green leaves. Looks nice
@dirtgirlworld OMG you just made me realize how perfect this is!! My mom is gorgeous. Looks super young, big boobs......but her butt is a flat line. It might even be concave. 🤣
I'm so glad none of you know us irl, my mother would kill me. 😂🤣😂🤣
Are flat concave butts a good thing? Lol
Oh I realize now that wasnt included in how gorgeous she is lmao I was in the rain reading it and missed the but I was like is that really a good thing. Sometimes I'm a ditz

These were a gift from my brother to my mother. I live how bright they are! Is everybody in the Christmas mood yet?? I am! #poinsettia #red #christmas #merryandbright #houseplant
Love that they are in a nice pot with drainage and not wrapped in foil ☺️🥰 Beautiful healthy poinsettia!! Perfect for the holidays!!
Oh they were wrapped in foil when he bought them. I gave him this pot to put them in. 😂 Thank you for thinking it looks nice. We tried. ☺️ @sarahkbartley
Aaaaaand the other side. Pretty sure the bare sticks are hollow. I assume I should cut them off? As far as care goes, all I did was cut the stems to about 8 inches, repot it in fresh soil, and I vaguely remember doing the total darkness thing for awhile(but probably not correctly). That all happened by the end of spring, and then it's been sitting on my porch. Should I just try again next year or is there hope? #poinsettia-care #poinsettia-advice #help #advice #plantadvice
@savannahssucculentgarden I would get a new poinsettia this year and start over again
Don't feel terrible, I found out some poinsettia growers use a method to root bind them to kill them off - more sales. ☹️
So all summer it stayed like that? And wow @lovestogarden that's insane and effed up. So theres leaves tho on the other side? If so I think your alright
@heatherdirtyhands About halfway through the summer this side died off, but the other side looks pretty healthy. It had better light.
I would cut those 2 dead stems off right to the dirt so that the energy can go to the rest of the poinsettia. The other side looks great and looks to be thriving👍 @savannahssucculentgarden I don't think its too late to put her in darkness for 16 hrs and bring her out for 8 hrs, she might still turn for you😘 sentimental lovely plant~keep her.
