Is this just a regular japanese maple kept in a small pot to stay that size or is it a miniature version? Ive always wanted one of these but Im a renter so I need whatever works in a pot

@madkeeg this one is only about 4ft. Tall now I think it's max is supposed to be 6 ft. I have a couple of others in pots also! Find you one that doesn't get over 10ft. Tall and by all means put it in a pot! They make bonsai out of these so you can cut back the roots to keep it in the size pot you choose!👍💘😍

It's roots we're wrapping themselves around my sprinkler line. It had to move. We shall see in the spring I guess.

@smileeguy mine is in a square aggrigate pot and a couple of years ago we took it out to root cut it and give it some fresh dirt, and a very large root had grown through the drain hole and was firmly in the ground!😲 Oh boy did we have a time getting it out of the pot!! A stone now sits under it!😂😂😂😂 We'll see next time. 🤔
