Tash, I have recently planted one and it's just not doing well - do they like certain conditions/soil might you know? Thanks. Michelle

Hi Michelle, they like at least partial shade in rich, fertile soil. They don't seem to do well on dry, sandy soils or in full sun (unless it stays moist like a bog garden). Neutral /alkaline soil preferably. What sort of situation is yours in? I always make sure they are planted quite deep so the crown isn't drying out too. Mine's only just been planted but it's under trees. They do sometimes naturally die back after flowering but will emerge again the following spring. I found this art
