Update turmeric, slowly progressing with leaf sprouts

Wow. Stupid question alert- didn't know we could grow turmeric here. Assumed it was too cold. Is yours in a greenhouse ?

It's on the windowsill @charlotte but will go to the greenhouse as soon as frosts are over. Cheers @cyndi

Looks interesting 🤔

Did I plant this deep enough? #advice also want to try ginger

Someone mentioned to me recently that ginger likes to sit on top of the soil, but I’ve not tried this type myself so I’m not sure if it’s the same

Thanks @richard.spicer.7906 they are all roughly the same family so I will try the rest of tumeric rhizomes on the top soil

Never grown them before but always thought they would be laid flat on the soil in a similar way to iris

Ah ha moment @carolgs going to experiment @richard.spicer.7906

#advice #team @gardentagsplantsteam thanks for the id. They have leafs starting to unfurl now, will post photos soon, cheers
