This hardy variety is known as a #minnesotamum the only known to survive our winters #cabbagewhitebutterfly #cabbagewhite #butterfly #purple
Beautiful👌. I’m just not sure that this is Cabbage white, Large white (Pieris brassicae). The black spot on the apex of the front wings is too short. This looks more like Small white (Pieris rapae), very close relative of Large white. Just a few days ago I tried to identify one White on my photo, so I dealt with it deeper and now I look like I understand it 😇. But doesn’t matter. It’s beautiful anyway😉
Thanks @bensgarden I appreciate the info! I'll look closer and change my tag if I need to 👍😁 I'm just starting to indulge in butterfly info as of recent, im so lucky to see so many different species💚
After further review @bensgarden cabbage butterfly refers to both the small and large, the large is not present in the U.S. so I will refer to this also as the #smallcabbagewhite or #smallcabbagewhitebutterfly #pierisrapae 👍✌🐛
This is my one and only mum left in the gardens, slowly but surely the die off and this is the hardest one I can get minnesota mammoth. #mums #fallmums #chrysanthemum
Morden huh? I'll have to find/try, these mammoths developed in Minnesota are supposed to be to zone 3 but nothing is failproof.. thanks for the info @gjones
