This is going to be my new #mango tree! I bought a mango for my daughter told her to save the seed, this is how the #mangoseed came out of the fruit 😲

@gjones it came from a farmers market, local grower, that may make a difference 😉

#mango #newgrowth #gyo started from seed last year. I would guess it's around 7ft tall

Amazing! I have gotten roots a number of times and then they rot. This is so exciting to see. Have you done others before? 💞👏👏👏👏

Oh, wonderful! Any fruit yet? My in-laws had a tree that was so large the second-floor balcony looked out to only 2/3's of its height. It was covered in fruit!

@lovestogarden I think it was in May this year when I planted the seeds, this one is about 4 ft tall. Grew fast!

@columbiariver they grow great here! frosts just burn the top leaves, regrows right back in spring!

Oh, wow, that is fast. How long until it will fruit? I have only gotten the seeds to sprout and then they mildew or dry out and die. I shall keep trying. Any advice will be appreciated. ❀️

@lovestogarden I read it can be 3 to 5 yrs before it produces fruit. I put the seed in a moist paper towel in a zip lock bag, checked it every few days, when I saw it had sprouted, I potted it up out side. I have 2 good size trees starting them that way! :) Other attempts of planting it straight in a pot outside did not fate well. I have them in morning sun, I water when the soil feels dry 😉 Hope that helps!

Thank you so much! I did this the same, but wonder if I let the bag get too hot and then the pot get too dry. ❀️ I shall try again and again until I get it right. I mean, how bad is it, it just means eating more fruit. 😁
