Not added this one in before, it was mums and dad said please take it before I kill it. Think it's #cyperus-papyrus @Leonplantaddict maybe you could confirm. I've got in in a pot sitting in a garden trug with lots of water in it. From what I understand mum kept it in an unheated greenhouse over winter. It was dry as a bone when I brought it here
Hi,like mine I think it’s actually Cyperus alternifolius, which means it’s hardier. Mine is planted in the ground,it’s been there for over 12 years,I never water it & it’s flourished! 😊
Thank you @Leonplantaddict and @joanboston That's very interesting, I'm almost scared to plant it in case I lose it as I'd asked mum for a bit of it for years and she didn't oblige 😂 she always kept it soaked sitting in a large bucket of water during the summer. Where do you both have it planted, shade or sun ?
Mine is in a sunny spot too & no where near any water,it gets quite dry. No problem at all coming through the worse winters,I just cut old stems down to the ground in spring.
@vec if you want to take cuttings cut a head of with a bit of stalk and trim the leaves a little and put upside down in water it will grow roots from the head. Very clever.
@vec it doesn’t really matter but if there are a few heads not flowering use those. I’d do 3 usually when I had it. I need to see my Sister and get some cuttings cause when I moved years ago I didn’t take them with me. I forgot.
Thank you, I shall try this and give you an update @pixierose That will take my worry away about losing it. I was going to dig out a plant that mum grew from a cutting for me because its a little bit "cottagey" for my garden but when all you've got left is memories and a few plants, they suddenly become a bit more important 😍

I had it in a sunny spot and not stood in water I understand your reluctance to put it out
Thank you @joanboston
