Rhododendron (Rhododendron Varieties)

Will this area be to shady to plant this rhododenron

Check your label which variety of rhododendron you have as some cope better with shade than others. They all need acidic soil though. Is your soil acidic? You have a lavender growing there so I'm guessing the soil could be neutral or alkaline. ☺

Btw, the plant at the back looks like green alkanet, an invasive weed which can easily take over a garden.

Shame it's a weed it's lovely and yes it gets everywhere.i leave it around my pond as it loves the shade and can't find anything else to grow there .

Any ideas on plants that will grow in the same conditions as the green alkanet ?
