Wisteria at Myddleton House recently. Love Wisteria and am hoping to put a white variety into my garden for next year. Several other #wisteriahysteria pics on my Instagram - hayesie63
I planted this last autumn and am thrilled that it’s survived snow, heat and drought. It’s now romping away across a wire at the top of my fence and, which you can’t see in the picture, is quite bushy at the base (first 3’ or so). My question - HELP please - is: do I need to do anything in order to support its continued survival and some of the fabulous white flowers next year? All advice gratefully received. @Squares @mikethegardener
Hi @mrsflowerpot - just seen you’re an Ambassador, are you able to offer any advice on wisteria alba please?
Would love to help but I just follow Monty's advice on summer/winter pruning and still it won't flower 🤔
Oh! @anne8691, I can’t believe Monty ‘let you down’!! However, I will check whether winter prune is good in year one.
Hi Zoe, thanks for tagging me, i follow basic rule of cutting tendrils back to three to five leaves and it should flower on older wood next year 😊👍
Thanks @Squares - I think, if I use that four/five leaf ‘rule’ most of the tendrils will stay. Everything crossed for a few flowers next spring. 🤞
