When I'm not on my bike, you'll find me in my organic-ish garden in #Cumbria. Favourite plants? Wisteria, hellebores, peonies, philadelphus...

Trachycarpus fortunei syn. Chamaerops fortunei, Chamaerops excelsa

10 Jan 19 • Now I love a bargain and I couldn’t have done better with these - sent to me free by the lovely people at #tropicalbritain For the moment I have just potted them up. Not sure whether to try them in the ground or not 🤔🤔🤔🌴 #trachycarpus-fortunei

I think a pot is your best bet Jacqueline, these are really pretty delicate when they are this size so you'll want to keep a real close eye on them, and as you know in a pot you can move them easier to their optimal spot👍 good luck! All mine that were under 3ft. Didn't make it 😥🤨💘😍

Well, in view of what @ShelleySnyder just said, I'll say 'shes the WOMAN!! and we're lucky to know her. So good luck Jacqui, you've got a job ahead of you. The rewards will be awesome!

Thank you both 😘 I thought they were pretty tough but they are currently tucked up in the cold frame, where they can stay until they get a bit bigger 👍 @ShelleySnyder @lesliecole49

All I can say is they are slow, mine I grew from seed about 20+ish years ago, it lived in various pots till 8 years ago then got moved last year will take a pic for you, they are fab plants

I think pots for several years seems to be the key, which is fine as it means I can move them about 😃 @carolgs
