What a beautiful colour! My dahlias seems to have finished for this year. I'm just waiting for the leaves to blacken so I can dig it up and store it for next year. 😊

@ublaszko Thanks! Do you dig your bulbs everytime? I was told to just cut the top and they shall automatically regrow for next year.. it is better to dig it?

It's my first year growing dahlias as I've always thought of them as slug food but I was given one as a birthday gift this year. It's safer to dig them up and store inside. If your soil gets cold and soggy in winter definitely need to dig them up. Also, dahlias take a long time to flower unless they're started off indoors and some may not even have enough time to flower if growing directly outdoors. Hence, I've never had dahlias before, they're too high maintenance 😂😂

Lovely 😊 Urszula is quite right that it’s best to lift them especially if we get a really hard frost...having said that last year I cut mine down and put a pile of mulch on top and they came back...but if you love it lift it..!!!
