No, I didn't keep tulip bulbs. I left some dwarf tulips the year before last and 2 years on the bulbs split and still too small to flower again. I used to buy purple/white tulip mix in Wilko but this autumn my local store didn't stock spring bulbs at all. I got new ones 'Purple Prince' and a friend bought me 'Purple Dream'. I'm looking forward to seeing them in the spring 😍
Actually, I was thinking when I first saw this photo that the bulbs look quite small. Might be worth getting some new tulip bulbs, just in case these skip a year or two. ☺
That's another reason I stopped keeping tulip bulbs. I have a small garden so I get rid of tulips as soon as they start to go over to make space for summer plants. I think it's difficult to replicate the conditions tulips need to reflower the following year as they naturally grow in Turkey, Iran etc.
@ublaszko That's very true. I think I might move them to my "tulip graveyard" where i like to naturalise bulbs in a shady corner of the garden, the usually do well enough there when id prefer a nicer show in sunnier spots :) i feel so awfuk chucking them
My favourite, goes strikingly well with terracotta
Mine too 😊 👍
@ublaszko this will by second spring in 2020, did you reuse your bulbs and did they look as good as the last? 😊⚘⚘
