You know, I wonder now if my Atilla tulips were actually Purple Flag. Beautiful colour! Mine are looking a bit straggly this year. Love the contrast between the petals and the middle bits.
@ublaszko they look very similar! These looked so perfect in bud but a little raggedy since they opened up 😝 purple and yellow are a great combo 💜💛
I'm pretty sure now that I had the same variety last year. They look just like the photos I took last year 😆 I'm think of planting them with Queen of the night or another black tulip variety next year. This year I have some bicolour red-yellow and red - white tulips. Really look forward to seeing how they turn out.
@ublaszko queen of the night are beautifully dark 🖤 waiting to see mine again. Those bicolour ones sound lovely 😋
After seeing all the photos of tulips yesterday, I’m wondering if my ‘Rembrandt’ tulip is actually a Darwin hybrid. Need to wait till others open up but possibly a case of Wilko striking again!!! @ublaszko
Beautiful 💖
@anges thank you Ange 😁
@andromeda thanks andromeda ☺️
I can see flowerbuds on one of the bicolour ones but not on these ones 😕 I wonder if I planted them too close or the bulbs were dodgy. At least I can enjoy yours for now 😊
Might need to wait until it's fully open. Darwin tulips have quite a distinct shape so you might be able to tell the difference later. I wouldn't be surprised though if Wilko struck again 😂😂 I still haven't heard back to my complaint about crocuses and iris reticulatas @bluefox23
@ublaszko there’s still time for them to make an appearance 😁 haven’t checked if all mine have opened yet. Too distracted by more wrong bulbs in this pack 🙈
Seems like wrong bulbs are just a common problem these days. I just noticed one of the muscari I bought which was supposed to be a broad-leaved bicolour one is not what it said on the label. Not the same colour or variety. It wasn't Wilko, I bought it from a market stall.

Love tulips so many beautiful colours @kez001uk
@wtwitchell6969 not had many til this year but starting to love them. Not the foliage so much 🤣
Same I think we planted a few lol I have foliage everywhere at the moment lol plus been so busy just tidying and cleaning up now and putting pots and plants where we want them now. @kez001uk
@wtwitchell6969 always seems far too much for a little flower 😜 yeah it’s all go out there now. Well once the cold spell stops again 😂
@kez001uk it’s only meant to drop to lowest 4 so I’m not to worried about the weather at the moment. As we are really sheltered back garden.
@wtwitchell6969 that’s a bit of luck. Colder here unfortunately
Have to keep well wrapped up. Probably snow here tho lol hey ho it’s still early in the year. So what’s your favourite plant
@wtwitchell6969 had a little yesterday, you shouldn’t get much. I think probably aquilegia. How about you?
Lovely colour. I agree about the foliage! So big and floppy!! 😂😂
This is my favourite colour. Purple Flag and Atilla. If you have tiny flowers and lots of foliage then your tulips are getting too much feed. 😉 I need to plant my tulips in pots next year as mine are growing in garden clay and they had masses of leaves this year.
Actually I was thinking of experimenting with John Innes no 2 for growing bulbs in pots.
💜 As good as anything at Keukenhof 👍🌷

A beauty 💜
Lovely colour, love it
Oh I love it!! So envious! It’s way too hot for tulips here.
@jeatacake thank you Jeff 😊
@alan1111 thanks Alan ☺️
@laneygarden thank you Laney 😁 I had no idea you couldn’t grow them in Florida 😔 makes sense though because even a sunny spell here makes them wilt and go over so much quicker
