Phyllostachys nigra

1 hour of thinning, finally my canes have gone black

How lovely, do you think this could be grown in a large pot? I have very limited space 😕 @cnash

There is a variety that can grow in pots, not this one once it gets established which can be slow, it changes pace and grows like the clappers. Could try tightly containing it by putting a surround around the root ball to stop it getting to big like a steel band or something, i think the best bet is to see if there is one for pots
