@mrsrinhergarden thank you. Unfortunately took out his equally pretty partner when he went. Stumps dug out and reunited behind pond for wildlife but must stop giving them personalities ๐ณ๐ณ
@natii aww thanks Natti, hopefully it will teach me some patience watching the new ones grow. I will however be accepting apple pie donations from summer onwards ๐๐ฅง
@donkinads aww, itโs a shame, but time for new beginnings๐I like that the stump is now a wildlife home too๐ณ๐๐๐ทhope your new tree does well
@wwTigraww aww that's a shame they're so lovely, hope you manage to get another and enjoy it growing. Fingers crossed for this promised better weather tomorrow !
Sadly lost this old apple tree to the winds but looked pretty with clematis and deserved remembering. Replacement in and doing well, if only 4ft !
they look lovely together๐๐ธ๐

@mrsrinhergarden thanks Sharon, I'll add a picture of the new ones once they get their summer clothes on ๐ณ
Same thing happened in one of my old gardens, not sure the out of control clematis helped much... this was before I had any gardening knowledge ๐
@anne8691 yes, it was an early set back for me too, looking back maybe I should've thinned the fruit a bit, but the learning continues ๐
I'm sorry about your tree! We lost my favourite corkscrew willow as well ๐
