@angiecrazycatlady twist top off, pull off loads leaves at base to expose about 2 inches of the stem. There should be a few little dried roots, which is a good sign that wants to become a plant. Left to dry for 3-6 hrs. Dipped in rooting gel and then planted in very quick draining soil. Important bits: place stem into soil at 45' angle not straight..also water into the top of the leaves, as this is the way it would receive water in the wild, so the leaves can take up water and stay alive.
@angiecrazycatlady it took maybe 2-3 weeks to get loads roots in my polytunnel and then planted properly in same soil. The plant is just getting bigger and bigger by the day!! 😎😎👍
We had these lining our walkway when we lived in Florida. Nothing beats a home grown pineapple, and they are fairly easy to start. We sandy soil, so they were quite happy.
