#advice Hi all. My fig tree has had a very peculiar year. It normally fruits but this year it produced lots of tiny figs that did not ripen. It currently still has lots of tiny unripe figs on it but no leaves. But the main problem is a couple of the trunks/stems seem to have some sort of fungus or rot as in the pic. I inherited the tree and it’s not been well maintained including being attacked/shredded up by a chainsaw! It’s in an unheated greenhouse planted into ground. What should I do!??

So after a bit of research I found a guy on YouTube. Really easy to follow explanation on fig keeping, when to prune etc. I think mine is poorly because there are too many trunks that have been rubbing each other and some disease has got in. So I’ve removed the middle trunk that’s causing most of the rub and pruned to get as much air to the tree as possible. I’ve also followed his guidelines on pinching out small fruit and disbudding to slow the tree down. Hopefully she will pick up! 🤞🤞❤️
