Cheers Kerry. There was no label with it, so I don't know which type it is or even if it's 100% hardy like other heathers. Will try some cuttings & maybe keep in the greenhouse when it gets really cold. @kez001uk
@jeatacake be worth protecting it just to make sure it survives. The heat killed off 8 of my established heathers so can’t be too careful even when you think they’d withstand the weather
What a shame 😧 They're definitely not plants for scorching hot weather. Just wish I knew what variety it was, but for now, as you say, better safe than sorry. 👍 @kez001uk
@jeatacake I didn’t think about them thriving in the cold and wet Scottish weather 😂 they’re hard to id aren’t they 😕 but it’s lovely whatever it is 😁 unique too!
@jeatacake Neither have I, the flowers are usually small. I've never seen one like that it's very nice and I love Heathers I keep buying the little £1 ones at Morrisons. ☺☺The last one I bought looks great quite full 💕💕
Thanks Chris. They're tough plants & always do well, but I just have a slight concern with this one in that it looks so "blousey" & may not be so tough (if that doesn't sound too sexist, sorry) 😌 @midnightgardener
@jeatacake 😃I've not heard of blousey before. Ooh you are awful!! I'm going to Garforth GC on Thurs so I'll be getting a few things from there. Last GC visit I got two large solar light-light bulbs for half price 😃they look really good. ☺☺
Ha ha ha 😁 I have enough plants to worry about whilst I am away, so I must stay away from temptation! 😀 Will take a look when back, as the bargains should be on offer then before the GCs clear the decks for winter.👍
Latest acquisition at our local market. Never seen such large flowers on any heather plant before!
Love heathers! Never seen flowers like that either 😯 very pretty 💗
