Hi all. I believe this plant is called an Acer? Does anybody have advice on growing them? If you look at the bottom of my plant, the leaves appear to be wilting & dying 😢 I water it every day and it’s kept in a sunny spot.
Thank you @cyndi I can’t see any pests on it. I’ve got lots of other potted plants within a few metres, no other signs? Perhaps it’s got sunburn? 😂
Plenty of water and a sheltered spot. A regular top up of ericaceous compost and a feed once a month during growing season. Prune off dead leaves and dead stems. I have this one it’s a beauty 😁
Thanks @hayleyaj. That’s got to be it!👌🏻We’ve had strong sun but also a lot of mildly strong winds (the Acer was horizontal the other day!) It’s very exposed at the moment, so I’ll place it in a sheltered spot now. Agree,it’s a beautiful plant when grown. Thanks very much for the advice👍🏻
I have this one as well. Keep it away from strong sun and wind and make sure the soil doesn't dry out. Having said that, they don't like soggy soil so watering every day might be too often. The roots could be drowning causing wilted leaves. Move it to shade for now until it recovers and let the soil dry out until it's just moist before you water again. I find that a good indicator of when you need to water a plant is to stick your finger in the soil and feel if it's dry/moist/soggy.

Not sunburn Mark, but wind burn as they hate wind 💨

Fantastic tip @ublaszko. This is my first year of gardening. I’m loving it, but need as much advice as possible. I’ll remember that tip. 👍🏻👍🏻
