I AM SO EXCITED!!! I've tried everything to get rid of gnats, so I'm hopefully germinating a #venus-fly-trap! See you in a few weeks!🤞 #venus-fly-traps #germination

If you can I would also try sundews there a bit better at very small flys 🪰. Im not sure what the rules are for sending seeds from the UK to Canada. If it is OK to do I can send you some sundews seeds.

@lydiastirling it would be an issue unfortunately. However, I really appreciate the offer! Thank you so much!

I had a feeling it might be but wasn't sure.

In the interim, you could try getting some yellow sticky traps (specialised horticultural paper with very sticky glue on them). They look a bit unsightly BUT if you lay them on the soil surface of your pots, or stick them on the ridge, the gnats stick to them and can’t breed. It does help, but of course it looks a bit unsightly for while. Could be interim solution while you wait for these fly traps to grow. I used to trap hundreds this way, and will slow their breeding down.

@richard.spicer.7906 thank you for commenting to help me out. I found some traps shaped like 🦋 & look really pretty. I tried the kind that loop on a stick, but they kept getting stuck on my long haired cat. Poor guy was so confused!🤣
