For some reason my not so old Amistad, not this one but last year's, didn't come back. Very odd 🤔💜💜

A beautiful one. 😍

@philstalder It goes fab with the Amante Salvia ♥️💕💜

Well it looks great with the other plants in the background too. 🤩

Your older one could have been frosted. They need some protection in very cold weather 🤔

@pelly Oh no, I didn't know that. What a pain 😱😓

It always best to take cuttings of them just in case 👍

@pelly Cutting aren't my speciality. I've never taken a successful one 🤔

I must admit mine are a bit hit and miss but I do seem to succeed with Salvias for some reason 🤔

@pelly I haven't even tried to take any cuttings for a while but, I need to and see what results I get. I probably did it wrong before 🤔

You must then, I use cinnamon as a rooting agent 👍

@pelly Amazing I never knew that. I'll give it a try. I really like the stuff 😋

They're very much alike aren't they, both beautiful Amistad with Amante 💜💜♥️♥️

Ange is a beautiful colour 💕💕💕

Beautiful!

@dirtgirlworld Oh thank you Maggie. Hope y'all are doing good ♥️💙

@dirtgirlworld It's good that you had a break, you sure need it after all that's happened 💕💕

I've got about four flower spikes on this great plant. I couldn't love my Salvias anymore than I do 😊😊💜💜

This is also part of my #bestofaugust. I can only fit 5 on my collage 😊😊💜💜
I think I need to overwinter this don't I? 🤔💜💜
It is perfect purple. 💜💜💜😊
Still looking amazing
When it's finished flowering cut it down and mulch it. Try and take some cuttings too just in case 👍
Definitely take cuttings, I lost mine its 1st winter
That's still looking fabulous Chris, mine survived one winter outside and then didn't survive the next one, so as everyone else says try to take cuttings 💜
Gorgeous clolour....💜💜💜
Yes I’d say overwinter. What I did this year is pull mine from the ground cut it down to its roots and I threw them into a bucket and covered them up to their root crown. I have them in my basement in front of a window and I’m just making sure to water when the top soil dries. I had a hard time finding mine this year and I refuse to lose them. Getting them to seed is difficult and so far this method has been working. They have small shoots so I’m doing something right. @midnightgardener

@rudester1 Thank you for your input on this. It's very helpful and I will take note. Mine will be coming up soon, I don't want to lose them. I lost one that I'd had a couple of years. No sign of it this year. So I bought a big Amistad (this one in the pic) and several jumbo plug plants 💜💜
@lilybee I'll overwinter but must make an effort with cuttings. If the weather's ok tomorrow I'll get this done. Thank you 💜💜
@hebelover That's a real shame Jason. I lost my original one too, it was good last year but it somehow died off. I never knew that were affected and I'd easily had my first one for two years. I'm not losing these. I've got a lot of Amistad to overwinter. I'll have to check about Amante too, she might need the same. I'll consult my Sarah Raven catalogue 💜💜
