Yes mares tail. An absolute nightmare, all you can do is try to keep it under control. Use the strongest weed killer you can get on it

Welcome to GT Liz 👋☺ They dislike cultivated soil and competing with other plants, so hoe regularly and put in as many plants as you can. Weed killers aren't always effective and glysophates are so bad for wildlife.
